I WUB YOU! You have revolutionised SSBB hacking! Now you just need to make a music hacking tool, and a stage hacking tool. Plus of course anything else that turns out to be hackable... EDIT: WHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... It's doing the damn Photshop thing, and complaining that I have my colours at the beginning of the palette like a sensible person. Please could you make a version that doesn't do that... it's gonna be really annoying EDIT2: Double waa... I edited the palette files to make the colours at the end of the palette, but it still doesn't work - it says 'UNEXPECTED ERROR: error, big fox5 has erroneous colours. (Over and over) It worked when I did +2's with normal edits...

If you add bytes to put the palette at the end you will have to modify also every pixel to make them match to the new number.
I coded a new way in CUPASH to detect palettes hoping to make it work with Gimp or other programs, but it seems that it failed.
Send me an PM with a TGA that it's giving you problems and I'll try to fix it. But I can't guarantee anything.

I coded a new way in CUPASH to detect palettes hoping to make it work with Gimp or other programs, but it seems that it failed. I installed GIMP and made a modification and it works perfectly (yes, the palette is in the top and it's not 256 colors). So my new method did not fail, please tell me what program are you using and what errors are you getting because "complaining that I have my colours at the beginning of the palette like a sensible person" is not in my possible errors list This method will be implemented in ASH 2.3, so people will be able to use GIMP and other programs too.

Working with GIMP? elrefugio, did I ever tell you that I loved you?
I'd be happy to try it out --- hoping that I can test it via the gecko method... (gonna try right now in fact)

Very strange...
I've run mine through the game about 3 times already, and I've had no success in getting ANY of the custom CSPs to show up. (Using USA version.) Didn't have any trouble in the "create" process, so those portraits must've been correct... and I replaced the correct .pac file as well.
Hopefully this'll be looked into.

Now that you have basically become a legend making these ASH programs, are you planning on continuing with an ItemASH?

Can you recolor the original portrait in the game like steveTV's portraits with this?

This is exactly how I did it. I tried to make them before but failed. When This was released I ran the extract part, replaced the TGA's, and ran the create part. It gave me an error about palette's (not sure exactly what anymore) so I downloaded a photoshop trial, opened the TGA's changed the mode to RGB, and then back to indexed to give it a palette again, and saved. It told me I had too many colors, so I reduced the colors, and it worked just fine. I have an NTSC version of SSBB.
elrefugio is my favorite person in the world right now.
