As everyone knows, all the characters have a set amount of costumes that you can replace. This is frustrating with characters who have very few costumes, such as Pikachu. My question is: Would there be any way to hack the game for more costumes to be available, so each character could have around 8 colors? Some could probably be doubles of other colors.

It's more than likely possible... the issue is whether someone is going to spend the time to hack it.
1) Allow the game to recognize ##'s past the current limit.
2) Make a version of CUPASH which allows for varied amounts of characters in common5.pac
3) Get the game, specifically the character select screen, to recognize and allow for cycling through of these characters
I think spunit (custom CSS code guy) said it was possible but quite a bit of work.

Only a miracle can make this happen. Though it would be neat to add more textures than the default. Too bad only Wario has 12 recolors.
