Okay so let's just say I'm making a special TL texture (wont say because I'm entering it for the tryouts for kicks).
I was bored today so I've been working on it all day and it's almost finished, but I wanted to edit the eyes.
..So I did, with GIMP, and basically I got rid of the detailed IRIS file and added this black dot. I gave it like a 5 pallette, indexed it, saved, and when I save... it isn't indexed anymore... and when I try to put it through ash...
WARNING: Your texture has erranous colors! Press Any Key to Continue. *Presses Key.*

And it goes on forever. Not letting me use texture Q_Q
Seriously? All I have is a freaking black dot, and you say no!? Q_Q Hewp.

Simply put... ASH (even my modified one) does not deal well with with eye textures made in GIMP. Really your only solution is to use photoshop for them. Although... there might be a way to "trick" it... I've only had success with this once --- indexing normally... but then padding the pallet with black to make it reach 256 colors again. That... or you could manually hex the eye. (Which... is a pain, requires a hex editor, and a little bit of effort) Hexing is a useful skill... but it so annoying to do.

B-b-b-but.... my photoshop is a bad girl! Gah. I'll try it anyway Q_Q
EDIT: Nope. None for me. I give up on that front. The texture looks great anyway.

What I usually do, because I have both PS and GIMP but hate using PS, is edit it in GIMP then save it in PS. I also use PS to add Alpha Channels and Palette things 'cause ASH works so much better with PS.

I have to do vice versa .__. Because I hate using GIMP.
And it seems to reject anything I save in photoshop. It only OCCASIONALLY works with my GIMP. I'm amazed Goku's sword and body went through, really.
Someone really help me with this. It's preventing me from making like any texture I want. Chains ftl Q_Q It always says unrecognizable file type... IT'S TGA!!! Wat??
I think the actual image is correct but however It's being saved is ruining it.

If you just click "Save" in Photoshop, it saves your image as .psd. Always. You have to go to "Save As" and select TarGA. And make sure it's 32bits/pixel and so on.

Gah. Of course I do that. Every time I do save as, and I always choose Targa file.

Well, "unrecognizable file type" doesn't allow many explanations. Either it's being saved in the wrong format, or something is just weird. *shrug*

I'd love to consider it being the wrong format, but I frankly have no clue how. It's a TGA file.. nothing else is in the folder... what's wrong? Here's an example of another character I tried to make but every time it said that error message. I'd appreciate it if you'd try to run it through yours... if it rejects it, try to open an untouched file, copy paste and then save or something, just to see if it's GIMP, Photoshop, or my ASH. rapidshare.com/files/215547823/tex_00_14.tga.html

Ugh!! I spent like 3 hours on another skin just to have it tell me it was an unregistered file type.
PLEASE SOMEONE check that file up there so I can see which application is causing the problem. If you guys cant figure it out... I'd like to give you guys the textures I created so you can hopefully create what I apparently cant.
God... I nearly fainted / shook computer wildly when it rejected me.
