I made a simple edit for Jigglypuff, a Santa hat from the sleepy hat texture. I was going to replace the red costume (flower) with it, but the hat doesn't appear at all. It only appears if you replace the sleepy hat texture.
Is there a way to fix this? Or is it impossible?

For pretty much every character that doesn't have a team color as his/her default outfit, the team color numbers go as follows.
01, 07 = Red 02, 08 = Green 03, 09 = Blue
07, 08, and 09 represent the color slots for Wario's plumber outfit.
For Mario, Ness, Diddy Kong, King Dedede, and R.O.B....
00 = Default (Red) 02 = Green 03 = Blue
01 is not used.
For Link, Yoshi, Luigi, Bowser, and Toon Link...
00 = Default (Green) 01 = Red 03 = Blue
02 is not used.
For Lucario and Sonic...
00 = Default (Blue) 01 = Red 02 = Green
03 is not used.

Yes, I'm sure I have the right number. I name it FitPurin01.pcs/pac (I use both), and the hat doesn't show up. In fact, the flower on Jiggly's head disappears too, making her not have any accessory at all.
The only time the hat is there is when I name it FitPurin02.pcs/pac.

Jigglypuff actually has different models for different costumes. Your hat isn't appearing because only the sleepy hat costume has the hat model.
(This, btw, is part of why I think model hacking will never work. We can't insert models that Nintendo made, but people think they can use ones they've edited?)

Vyse, the models are held within the costume file. I have gotten sonics different models to load on different costumes. It might just be jigglypuff. I will check this out later.
