This is something I've been meaning to ask for a while...
I've heard of video capture cards for the tele, but I have no idea what to look for. I want to record the video to my PC/laptop during gameplay... What capture cards do you all use, and what do you recommend?
Example of capture card at work (something similar to how this one works):

I've been considering getting one of these myself lately. Unfortunately, we're in the same boat.

Capture Card Dazzle. They cost around $50, they are easy to use, and they have a great picture. (I should know, I have one.)

I own 2 usb versions, but they're very crappy T_T Otherwise, I'd go with a real card. Check this out: dvr.about.com/od/capturetvwithacomputer/tp/toppick1.htm I wonder how hard it would be to make a homebrew app that records all the video to the SD card, or uses a gamecube controller in a certain position to control the soft-cam.

Dazzle Video Creator Plus. Cost me over $100, best quality IMO.

Dazzle is in my opinion the best you're going to get unless you wish to spend about 200$. If you live in Europe/Australia be sure to get Dazzle Platinum, most other ones aren't capable of PAL60.
I know how you guys feel before I got mine to start machinimating I had to search the web about a month to find some useful answers. Especially conisdering that I needed one that could work with PAL60.

I use a Dazzle DVD Recorder, then CamStudio to record what's in the preview, since I don't want to constantly waste DVD's, and the quality comes out really good tbh.

I use a gamebridge. Its the best option for xp users UNLESS YOU USE WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER. WMM WILL NOT WORK WITH GAMEBRIDGE. I record a ton of gameplay of my textures, i gotta playlist with over 30 videos of my textures at youtube.com/user/NeonTogepi
