I'm using Vista...
(Well, was, currently on Windows 7)
I really have no idea what is wrong with your setup --- the fact it just dies after the first extraction (without error even) is just weird... Grasping at straws now but... are you the administrator on your computer? Is UAC (user account control) on? Maybe some setting is not allowing the program to delete the files after they are copied.

Is the folder in read only mode? Im just kinda shooting at random things now. Glad I'm not the only one who has run out of ideas. Just a little extra info on his problem... I sent him a modified step1.pl with added system "pause" and print "test #" interlaced throughout... When he ran it... it seemed to run the first instance of SSBExtract and all print statements but skipped all system commands.
