Its defiantly solid for a first try. Falco isn't the easiest character to make hax for. I think it looks damn good for what it is. It needs a little work around the edges. I think maybe changing the colorscheme around a bit.

Now heres the part I'm going to be overly critical.

This is just me talking, but I think things look best when there are two main colors and shades of those colors. Then use other colors on a very sparingly. There are some spotty parts on the jacket. I'm not sure if thats the screenshot or the texture. The pants + shoes look really really good. I'd get rid of the green around his eyes. (Replace it with a shade of red or blue), and maybe color his tail.

thanks for the criticism. i think i'll try harder on the next one,this was basically just a run through to see if i did it correctly. the shoes are definitely my favorite part

Try a Ness next. He's a good character to start on since other then his arms,hands and hat(<--as far as what direction its facing) its pretty obvious what goes where.
