Yes. There is an easier way. You can skip the latest hex editor steps with just a call to ntcompress: ntcompress -l -o compressed_file.bin -A4 uncompressed_file.pac With this command you won't need to edit a TXT file, to call perl to remove the "0x"s, to remove the first 4 bytes and to overwrite them on the fifth position. You are using the old Pharrox's method. I discovered this method while doing some tests with CUPASH and it will give you an exact copy of the file you could get following the old method. Which steps does this skip, exactly? And how exactly do you work this, I'm not sure... Please put how to do this in the first post soon, please!

I'm confused so how do I use this with the SD loader? That would mean I could only use one texture at a time since I can't put em all in one place without overwrighting every common3.pac

Uh, hey, it's not working for me, it gives me this:
"ARC A subdirectory or file common3 already exists"
What does THAT mean, and it doesn't give me the 003 folder.

I tried this and the no hexing guide, but I can never get past step 3- It goes through lz77ex correctly, but it doesn't say press any key to continue, just closes. Then I put it through SSBExtract and it doesn't create a folder. If I pause it afterwards with a BAT file, then it give me an error about an Appl file already existing. Can anyone help me out?
Here is what it says:
C:\items>ssbextract common3.pac common3.pac
Filesize: 7908704 bytes File format: ARC A subdirectory or file Appl already exists.
Size: 66319 @ 68 File starting @ 96 Size: 1088 @ 66436 File starting @ 66464 Size: 2592 @ 67556 File starting @ 67584 Size: 2611872 @ 70180 File starting @ 70208 Size: 244160 @ 2682084 File starting @ 2682112 Size: 48160 @ 2926276 File starting @ 2926304 Size: 222912 @ 2974468 File starting @ 2974496 Size: 1453376 @ 3197412 File starting @ 3197440 Size: 626304 @ 4650820 File starting @ 4650848 Size: 242634 @ 5277156 File starting @ 5277184 Size: 2044584 @ 5519844 File starting @ 5519872 Size: 53712 @ 7564484 File starting @ 7564512 Size: 61272 @ 7618244 File starting @ 7618272 Size: 157136 @ 7679556 File starting @ 7679584 Size: 6968 @ 7836740 File starting @ 7836768 Size: 64928 @ 7843748 File starting @ 7843776
