Hello. Lately my texture endeavors have been greatly improved upon! However there is one minor area that I am having a bit of trouble with that I would like to fix.
The profile picture on the character Select screen. Now, I actually downloaded a big texture pack so at first I had a bunch of textures all with pictures associated with them on Character select screen. However... As I started to find more textures that I liked, I began removing some of the textures from my old texture pack, and began replacing them with new ones. The problem is that the old profile picture that shows up on the character select screen for the previous character I just replaced... is still there.
So... How can I make new profile pictures? Are the profile pictures embedded in the Texture files themselves? How exactly does it work and how can I get the correct profile pics up?
Thank you! You guys have been the greatest help!

Character select screen: common5.pac (common5_en.pac as produced by CUPASH)
So... if you aren't getting a properly updated character select screen... you may...
1) not have fully replaced the common5.pac (MUST BE NAMED THIS) 2) had CUPASH fail during the create process

Okay on my SD card under Private/wii/APP/RSBE/pf/system I found the common5.pac file it is named correctly and everything... Now what I am not getting is... How can this file represent every new Character profile pic for every texture I put on my SD card?
Am I supposed to replace this file? If so then with what?
What is a CPCASH or whatever that thing you kept saying? And what would cause whatever that is to crash? How can I remedy it?
Thank you.

CUPASH is a program designed specifically for making custom portraits.
Anyway, the reason why you're not seeing your portraits on the character select screen partially has to do with what codes you're using.
If I recall, you need the File Replacement v1.1 code to see your portraits on the character select screen. Likewise, the File Replacement v1.3 code is needed to see your portraits on the results screen.
Unfortunately, I haven't had any success getting my battle portraits (the images with a size of 48x56 pixels) to appear during my matches. However, my character select portraits (the images with a size of 128x160 pixels) are working correctly.

CUPASH: www.filefactory.com/file/af21g21/n/CUPASH-Mod_zipYou already have the common5.pac needed to make it work. Copy it from your SD card to the CUPASH folder after you unzip the program, rename it to common5_en.pac, and run step1_extract. Now find the portraits you want to add. Someone has probably made them. Put them in the newfiles folder. Now look in the templates folder, find the name of the portrait you want to replace, and rename the corresponding portrait in the newfiles folder to have the same name. ...This is a lot easier to do with an example. Let's say you were originally using my Lloyd texture for Pit, and you had the portrait for it. You want to change it to Vyse. When you run step1_extract, you will get a bunch of .tga files in your templates folder. They will all have names like bowser1_big. One of these, say pit2_big, will be the Lloyd portrait. Put the Vyse portrait in the newfiles folder, and rename it pit2_big. Repeat this process for every portrait you want to change. When you're done, run step2_create. Look in newfiles>system, take the common5_en.pac that is now there, put it on your SD card, and rename it to common5.pac. (Delete the previous one first.) And that's it! Changing battle portraits requires having the original battle portrait in the neededfiles folder when you run step1. I'm guessing that's why it didn't work for you, mnsg.

Is there a place on this board where people post up the portraits? Or do I have to ask the artist individually?

Is there a place on this board where people post up the portraits? Or do I have to ask the artist individually? There are a couple topics in the Textures section that have packs of CSP images. Otherwise... have to rely on the artist to supply a TGA with the download or just make your own.

Isn't there supposed to be more of them (not sure if that's my problem for not seeing my small portraits)?
If that's not the problem, then is there a common5_en.pac file that has ALL the original big and small portraits included? The one that I have has all the original big portraits, but very few small portraits.
