I was surfing around back before I got all of this texture hacking stuff working, and I read somewhere that either dvd+r or dvd+rw is bad for the wii's laser? this morning, my brother complained about none of his game's working, as it turns out, all of his games were severely scratched, so my wii is fine at the moment, but wat type of disc is it that harms the wii, are there any bad habits that I should make sure not to do with the wii, and is it normal for the wii to make unusually loud noises when running a backup???

I wouldn't worry about using +R's - I don't think they have any kind of significant effect...
I would be less happy about RW's as I would suspect them to be less reliable (just as a disc, not for the laser)
However nobody actually has any significant evidence either way... so keep using them until your wii packs up then post it off to Nintendo.

Hmmm... I've also heard things about the RW's able to damage the laser or something like that,so maybe its true, I used to use +R's, nothing bad happened, But now I use -R's.

OKay that's all good, I use +R's My brother's just an idiot, every single on of the games he tried to play failed to read, but when I looked at them they were all severely scratched, I'm talking like he put them in a blender or took sand paper to them, it turns out he scratched 'em all, including the last disc I burned, and I havn't made a texture since then so I'm not gonna burn another till next week
