i want to make an ike texture... but i want the cape transparent. how do i do that?

By making it transparent.
...
There is really no trick to this one --- just do it however you would. (Coloring alpha layer black, selecting and deleting, etc)

No. Just... erase it (in GIMP). Color the alpha layer all black in Photoshop. And then save it.

And then save it. k on gimp i erased the texture parts that i don't want on ike. then after on photoshop/or paint.net i cover all the black and white tga's black. then when i played it in my game it was black... ike's cape.

Ok man, actaully listen. Photoshop 7 or lower: Delete the part of the texture you dont want (make sure some of the texture is still there or it will turn out white/black).
