Well one thing is for certain. When a new HBC installer method does get released for System Menu 4.0, I won't be recklessly updating my Wii any longer. Don't want to make the same mistake twice. Sorry for sounding so negative... but 4.0 might have the threatened "auto-update" feature that Nintendo claimed 3.4 had... So you might be screwed... I'm sticking to 3.3a or 3.2 if I have to downgrade ._.

I don't see auto update actually happening.
Too many situations where an unexpected upgrade would lead to a brick. --- Unless Ninty finally adds some layer of protection to the boot process itself.
<3's his 4.0

Whatever the new HBC installer method is, it sure is a treacherous development if it's taking over 2 weeks to complete.
Anyway, I don't think Nintendo will go far enough to do auto-updates to your Wii.
System Menu 4.0 might've rendered the latest Twilight Hack useless, but at least the SD Card Menu lets us run VC titles and WiiWare titles from our SD card now.

Looks like there's some small information about the next HBC installer method that could replace the Twilight Hack.
This exploit seems to be called BaNNeRBoMB. It's not available to the public yet, nor is there any information about the exploit itself, but it could be the answer for those who have System Menu 4.0, but not the HBC (such as myself).
I found this from the URL below. However, whether or not this is true remains to be seen. wiibrew.org/wiki/System_Menu_4.0

I was checking some Youtube videos regarding the BaNNeRBoMB exploit last night, and apparently some people are saying that it's fake AGAIN.
The creator of this exploit, Comex, alternated to working on another exploit, and that has caused some people to make a ruckus. And the thing is, the BaNNeRBoMB exploit has been confirmed to work with System Menu 4.0.
It is unknown when BaNNeRBoMB will be released to the public, but it might be a longer wait, considering that Comex is working on more than just BaNNeRBoMB; he's also working on a program called Benzin.
Here's the video that proves that BaNNeRBoMB works with 4.0. Just keep note that the only reason the HBC installer worked on that video is that that System Menu was updated through Homebrew, NOT Nintendo.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq02qwFNMJE Just finished using PK RESEARCH GAMMA, and you won't like what I found: wiiscenewatch.blogspot.com/2009/04/details-about-comex-exploit.htmlAccording to this, Comex didn't just start working on another exploit... It seems he abandoned BaNNeRBoMB altogether. His new efforts may actually prove better in the long run. I mean, the only reason Nintendo was blocking Homebrew was because it allowed piracy, right? If Comex blocks those attempts, then Ninty should leave the Homebrew community alone. The only bad part about this is that he seems to be taking pages from Sakurai's book on release policies.

Someone from the Wiibrew forums mentioned that that website isn't very popular, and that the guy who made the post is a loser that only wants to make a name for himself.
Basically, don't believe everything that random people post on their blogs.
