(April 11!) SD Loaded Textures! NTSC & PAL!

This is Phantom Wings's Dynamic SD Loader code which allows you to load files from the SD card during game play.
As you can plainly see from the video this code isn't done, it is a bit too slow to load files perfectly every time. It will be released when it's done.
I helped a bit but all the credit goes to PW.
(also to picano for the textures)

Still don't understand what this does? Load textures from your USB card instead of burning new disks!

Thank you deadpixel for linking to the update, Phantom Wings for making the code, and Igglyboo for being awesome.

NOTE: These codes currently only work for an NTSC-U copy of Brawl --- that is --- only if you live in the United States, Mexico, Canada, or additional close region.

GCT Code File [RSBE01 --- NTSC Brawl] (Includes texture stuff, camera hack, and longer replays --- INCLUDES disable custom stages)
GCT Code File [RSBP01 --- PAL Brawl (Unrestriced camera, disable custom stages and all codes needed for file replacement to work)
—Codes courtesy of Phantom Wings, Y.S., and brkirch
—For the codes themselves, please scroll down past the instructions.

Instructions:

1) Place the GCT code file on your SD card in a “codes” folder

—ex: E:\codes

2) Place your texture files in the appropriate folders

Each file will be stored as the following - The Green is the actual file itself.

Character Textures:
X: Private\Wii\App\RSBE\pf\fighter\(Character Name)\Fit(Character Name)(Color #).pcs/.pac
—ex: E:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Luigi\FitLuigi00.pac
—ex: E:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Luigi\FitLuigi00.pcs
Character Name List
Color list

Final Smashes Textures:
X: Private\Wii\App\RSBE\pf\fighter\(Character Name)\Fit(Character Name)Final.pac (PT will have a color # in between Final and .pac)
—ex: E:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Pit\FitPitFinal.pac
Character Name List

Brawl Stage Textures:
X: Private\Wii\App\RSBE\pf\stage\melee\(StageName)
—ex: E:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\stage\melee\FSTGBATTLEFIELD.PAC
Stage Name List

Assist Trophy Texture:
X: Private\Wii\App\RSBE\pf\item\(AT Name)\Asf(AT Name)Brres.pac

Pokemon Textures:
X: Private\Wii\App\RSBE\pf\item\(Pokemon Name)\Pkm(Pokemon Name)Brres.pac

Character Images(CSPs):
X: Private\Wii\App\RSBE\pf\system\common5.pac
X: Private\Wii\App\RSBE\pf\info\portrite\InfFace###.brres
X: Private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\menu\common\char_bust_tex\MenSelchrFaceB###.brres
(Got a TGA? CSP packed in with another file? Watch this to know how to use it!)

You cannot use music with this.

Use the following lists to help fill in the parenthesized names.

Character Names
Color #'s
Stage Names
Pokemon Names
Assist Trophy Names

4) Load up Brawl via Gecko OS

5) Get to character select, select characters, wait 30 seconds before proceeding to next screen.

6) Enjoy!

It's basically a code that swaps disk loading with SD card loading.

So... instead of burning a new disk... you put your new textures on an SD card. When ever you swap characters, the game will first check the card for textures... and load them if there. If not, load from disk as normal.

Requirements?
Homebrew Channel. Gecko OS (homebrew app --- different region loading / cheat codes)

They could release this beta even if there's some bugs when loading sometimes..
I don't care if I have to quit and rematch, it's always better than burning lots of DVDs :/

The grand total is 165 lines.

The files will be stored in the directory:

private/wii/apps/RSBE/pf/

And from there each file will be stored as it would be on the disk. So something like Link's second color would be stored in:

fighter/link/FitLink01.pcs(.pac)

Keep in mind that this can be applied to almost any file loaded from the disk, not just .pac/.pcs files.(I say almost because some files are loaded with a weird directory name which my current code can't read - hopefully I'll fix it later.)

Among other things, there are two things that you should know about when using this code.

1. Load times are increased by a slight margin.(don't worry, you'll barely notice it)
2. Sometimes a file will get skipped by the code if there are too many calls for things to be read from the disk at once... It is suggested that when using textures you should wait until the character is completely loaded (when the Wii stops beeping) before leaving the character select screen.

Hopefully I'll be able to fix the second one in the future.

Textures appear to work on all modes but I haven't checked wifi yet (though who wants to use textures if you're opponents can't see them?) though for some modes you'll need the .pac file along with the .pcs.

You must have both the .pac and the .pcs with the following characters at anytime:

Zelda/Sheik
Samus/ZeroSuitSamus
Pokemon Trainer & company
Bowser
Wario

Seeing as the most popular use for this is going to be textures I've made up an example pf folder for anyone who's having troubles understanding how the files should be named.

Example pf File

It contains one texture replacement for each character's main costume and a final smash replacement for PT. For those of you who do not wish to wait through the download time, here's an empty shell pf folder which has everything already organized in it - you just need to add the files..

Empty

-Just remember that each character texture you put into it will be "Fit<containing folder name><color #>.pcs/.pac"
-Final Smashes will be named as "Fit<containing folder name>Final.pac" (for PT there will be a a color # in between Final and .pac)
-Stages will be uniquely named, I'll try and get a list up of the proper names of each.

Have fun!

Pretty cool. But now we need the softmii team or preloader guys to make it so the disc channel can automatically load the codes because I hate going to the gecko OS or backup channel all the time.

Slacker! :P

<3 my USB Gecko... change textures, codes, take screenshots... any time, any where, just have to run Gecko OS.
